New Lifestyle Sessions for Couples & Families In-Home or On-Location!

Have you ever spent hundreds of dollars on a family photo shoot only to get your photos back of your children with bored expressions on their faces? I withheld these services for a while for this exact reason. Children tend to get antsy when your constantly trying to direct them.

That’s why I’m so excited to announce that I am now offering in-home lifestyle sessions for couples and families. Don’t think of this as your average photo shoot because there’s no need for consistent poses.

In-home lifestyle photo shoots are just that; lifestyle! It’s about me capturing the natural expressions and real connections between people. My goal is to tell your story and freeze this moment of your lives to cherish forever.

According to Wikipedia, Lifestyle photography is “a kind of photography which mainly aims to capture portrait/people in situations, real-life events, or milestones in an artistic manner and the art of the everyday.”

So whatever photos and poses you may have in mind, let them go. I mean it! I would love to meet you (and your family) to talk and really get to know one another. In this instance, we may become more familiar with each other. I want to know names, favorite places, and pastimes to get a real sense of who you are as a couple (or family). Once the session day arrives, you won’t be worrying about talking or trying to direct me so much because we would have covered our key prompts. You can spend your session just talking, admiring, or playing with your kids/each other.

If you want photos of you looking happy and natural, my best advice to you is to be happy and natural. Sounds silly, but It’s really that simple. We often overthink things, especially when there’s a camera in our faces. I promise you after the first 10-15 minutes all that awkwardness and unnaturalness will dissipate.

What I will be capturing is a mix of documentary and portrait photography. I’m actually taking that hour or two to spend time with you and your family and capture your day rather it be at home or out at a planned picnic or carnival! I'm overly excited to offer these sessions and I'm looking forward to building this new chapter together.

Some people may not be open to the idea, so my question is what are some things you look for when planning family photos? Do you prefer studios or outdoors? Why or why not?
